Please take the time to
review the link that will show you the Project (K)night Stand
card. Also we have enclosed the chapter 3 notes for your review.
Although at first glance you may not recognize it, this is a
very powerful and we believe life-changing program. If every Christian
applies the principals and power found in these verses
to their lives, it will transform them and the ministries in
which they are involved.
This program involves
the entire weekend. Once again we offer a complete set of notes
for each person. We have no set charge, we only ask that you
consider taking up a love offering to help us cover the expenses
of our ministry.
Throughout the weekend
you will have the joy of worship through the musical gifts of
keyboard artist Chuck Rizen and guitarist, singer and composer
Neal Nemeth.
It is a full
weekend, but we promise you will be filled with the knowledge
and love of our Triune God!
PLEASE
REVIEW THE INTRODUCTION
1 Thou therefore, my son,
be strong in the
grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou
hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou
to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 3
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a
good soldier of
Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth
entangleth
himself with the affairs of this life; that he may
please
him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2 Timothy 2:1-4 -
KJV
In my 30 years as a Born Again Child of God,
I have clearly discovered that the day I accepted the gift of
everlasting life by faith in Jesus Christ I entered a life long
war. Yes, I said war, not skirmish, not just a battle but an all
out war. Little did I know how hard it would be to do battle
against my enemies. You see, my enemies are real knowledgeable
about my ways. My enemies have had a lot of experience and it
appears they have won many conflicts. My enemies understand how
I work, plan and play. My enemies never seem to tire of the
battle. They seemingly get energized by the hunt. Oh yes, my
enemies are constantly on the hunt, looking for every
opportunity to engage me. My enemies hate the things of God.
They dislike any ray of light or hope that may shine from my
life or yours. My enemies are not only skilled in this war, but
they are dedicated to win.
Allow
me to introduce you to my two enemies, the ones I must
battle each day.
1. Satan
and the powers of darkness.
Be
sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as
a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8 -
KJV
2. My own spirit, the flesh.
For
the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the
Spirit
against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the
other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Galatians5:17 -
KJV
Watch
and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed
is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Matthew 26:41 -
KJV
So
then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Romans 8:8 -
KJV
As I look back over my thirty
years, I would like to be able to blame most of my loses in this
war on Satan, but in truth I can not. You see the scriptures
teach us that we can be victorious regarding the wars we face
each day.
Nay, in all these
things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Romans 8:37 -
KJV
The only reason I am not a victorious soldier in
this war is because I have not endured. I have not fought a good
fight. I have not prepared each and everyday as I should have.
My enemies are always ready! So why have I chosen to call this
program "PROJECT (K)NIGHT STAND"?
First
and
foremost
because I looked to my
commander and chief the Lord Jesus Christ as our example. I
decided if His battle plan was good enough for Him, it would be
good enough for me. His plan is really quit simple. Theologians
and churches have sometimes just flat complicated the process.
Too many programs, too many meetings, too many gimmicks. The
answer is really not all that difficult. Just look how Jesus
defeated the enemy.
1 Then was Jesus led up of
the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was
afterward an hungered. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he
said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be
made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written,
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that
proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 5 Then the devil taketh
him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the
temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast
thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge
concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up,
lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus
said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt
the Lord thy God. 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an
exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the
world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these
things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it
is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him
only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth him,
and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Matthew 4:1-11 -
KJV
Know and use the Word of God!
The devil can only stand so
much of hearing the truth spoken as related through the Word of
God. So I have chosen eleven passages of scripture for us to use
in our daily battles. Seven for the start of our day and four to
end our day. You will notice that I have attached a KEY word to
each passage of scripture. These are there to help us focus on
the main purpose of each passage. The next eleven chapters will be
spent examining each scripture passage and related scriptures.
Today we will merely review each passage and encourage you in
the proper use of this project. Can you spare five minutes in
the morning and at night?
Secondly I chose the concept of the
(K)NIGHT
STAND for two simple reasons:
1. I encourage you
to place this next to your bed on the NIGHTSTAND.
This way it will be easy to find and the very first thing
you do before your feet hit the floor.
2. I want us to be
reminded of the
KNIGHTS
that served
and protected their kings, their loyalty, strength, skills and endurance.
They also wore
special armor to protect themselves, they seemed
ever
ready and watchful. So it should be
with us!
Final Word:
Ephesians
6:10-18
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the
Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole
armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the
wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the
whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the
evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand
therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and
having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet
shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be
able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take
the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all
perseverance and supplication for all saints;
